Who we are looking for
Otolane is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native solutions to optimize software development and deployment processes. This role involves close collaboration with the development team to ensure seamless integration and efficient workflows.
What you will be doing
Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain AWS cloud-based production systems
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI
Monitor system performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability
Automate operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for IAM roles, encryption, and compliance
Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment processes and improve application performance
Define and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like CloudWatch or Datadog
Stay updated with AWS services and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions
What you will need
Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., GitLab, AWS CodePipeline)
Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPCs, Load Balancers)
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
Experience in any of these will make you stand out
AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional)
Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Experience with In-memory caching such as Redis
Experience with microservice architectures and deployment models
Understanding of open source server software such as RabbitMQ, Consul
CI/CD support such as Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Azure DevOps Pipelines
Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/API Gateways/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)
Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management
