Who we are looking for

Otolane is looking for a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will have expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native solutions to optimize software development and deployment processes. This role involves close collaboration with the development team to ensure seamless integration and efficient workflows. 

What you will be doing

• Deploy, automate, manage, and maintain AWS cloud-based production systems

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, or GitLab CI

• Monitor system performance to ensure high availability, scalability, and reliability

• Automate operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

• Ensure platform security by implementing best practices for IAM roles, encryption, and compliance

• Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment processes and improve application performance

• Define and implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools like CloudWatch or Datadog

• Stay updated with AWS services and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions

What you will need

• Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell

• Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., GitLab, AWS CodePipeline)

• Hands-on experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration

• Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes

• Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, VPCs, Load Balancers)

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment

Experience in any of these will make you stand out

• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional)

• Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies

• Experience with In-memory caching such as Redis

• Experience with microservice architectures and deployment models

• Understanding of open source server software such as RabbitMQ, Consul

• CI/CD support such as Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Azure DevOps Pipelines

• Experience working with scalable networking technologies such as Load Balancers/API Gateways/Firewalls and web standards (REST APIs, web security mechanisms)

• Familiarity with standard IT security practices such as encryption, certificates and key management
